The power of Caliban cannot be denied. They are a force in league with Heaven Shall Burn and Maroon, i.e. teutonic blast energy par excellence, and they make a difference in a genre with so many bands of mediocre or low quality.

Why they make a difference? Because they don't just fire away constantly. There is room for diversity, for songs like Edge Of Black with a classical intro and melodic riffs, for beautiful, clean vocals alongside the brutal screams and growls, for details and weird electronic sounds (try Davy Jones for one - and, hell, I love that screeching guitar!).

And listen to that manic harmony of the intro of Deadly Dream! That's just one of the little beauties given to us by the two Caliban axe men. We're talking high technical level here, and guitarists who seem to have fun challenging themselves.

Where the last release, the cover EP 'Coverfield', was only partly successful in my humble opinion, this full-length holds a lot more weight and quality, so, yes, I am one of the many who'll like this!
