This Finnish band started in 1999 and this is their fifth album. It is a bit strange that the band isn't more popular. One thing is for sure, the music can't be the reason. Eighties influenced power metal executed in well written songs with a head and a tail. Vocalist Ahonen has a nice warm voice, which for a change doesn't sound like 13 a dozen power metal voices this time. The guitar riffs sound sharp and edgy, which form a nice contrast to the keyboard parts. The variety between the songs is good; faster ones like "Heaven and Hell" and "Holier Than Thou", sing-a-long songs like "Silent Scream" and rock tracks like "The Ignitor" and "Lost Tribe. The last track even sounds a bit like Manowar. Pure and honest European catchy melodic power metal executed well, that is what Burning Point stands for. This is stuff for fans of Stratovarius, Helloween, Narnia, Blind Guardian, Freedom Call and so on... | ||||||||||||||||||
