Warrant relesed their classic album "Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich" in 1989, which immediately entered high on the charts. The big hits was "Sometimes She Cries", "Heaven" and the rock anthem "Down Boys". The album sold only in the US 2 million records. In 1990 did their 2nd record hit the market with ever bigger success. "Cherry Pie" was a megahit worldwide with a popular video on MTV (back then MTV played musicvideos). Warrant did a 3rd album (Dog Eat Dog), but the arrival of grunge kicked almost all LA bands out from the big arenas. "Rockaholic"is not a modern rock album, it's .......how should I say: a really great 80's rock album. Forget that album (Born Again) from 2006, this one is much better. It's not the orginal vocalist (Jani Lane) from the first records, but Robert Mason (former with Big Cock and Lynch Mob) shows what a great singer he is and does a fantastic work at the microphone. The very technical guitarist Joey Allen contributes to make the this record one of 2011's best glamrock releases. The album doesn't have a superhit, but contains alot of tracks with high quality. If you're a fan of American Melodic Hardrock, you'll find a lot of pleasure with "Rockaholic". The production is perfect with mega-producer Keith Olsen (Ozzy Osbourne, Scorpions), and Pat Regan did the work by the mixed table ( Kiss, Ted Nugent, Deep Purle). My favourite tracks is: "Sex Ain't Love", "Show Must Go On" and the great last track "The Last Straw". You'll surely find your own favorites on "Rockaholic". Warrant 2011: Robert Mason (Vocals), Joey Allen (Guitars), Eric Turner (Guitars), Jerry Dixon (Bass) and Steven Seet (Drums). | ||||||||||||||||||
