A new live boxset (3 CD + 2
DVD) from the progressive rock super stars Transatlantic, around 3½ hours
of material and they have the audacity to kick the show off with the entire
"Whirlwind" album, 80 minutes that will send any progressive rock fan straight
to heaven... and the remaining 5 songs! deliver at an equally high level. This
is pure progressive rock eargasm captured at The Academy on May 22nd, 2010 in
Manchester, England on their Whirld Tour 2010. The full title of this release
reads: "More Never Is Enough - Live @ Manchester and Tilburg" because the
material on DVDs is recorded a few days earlier in the famous 013 in Tilburg,
Holland.
BUT! The question is however if
this ends up on all progressive rock fans shopping list this month?
Because it is basically just another version of their "Whirld Tour 2010 - An
Evening with Transatlantic" release from last year, a boxset that offered
exactly the same, just recorded in London the evening before the Manchester
show. I absolutely love this band and think they were slightly more "on fire" in
Manchester, but you decide whether or not you need this one also...?
