There is not only Black Metal from Norway. Shraphead is a modern metal band, which has been around since 2004 and after an EP, they finally release their debut now. The musical styles they bring are modern with lot of melody and clean singing, but at times also rather heavy with aggressive vocal parts. Thrash riffs, combined with melodic sometimes even rather commercial parts.

Of course this isn't all new, but the band wrote some very good songs. Not all the songs have the same quality, but the majority is quite o.k. Sometimes modern Soilwork influences can be traced back. The vocals of Jo Johnsruf are rather good and he sings in different styles. The clean singing is good and the melodies in the music are nice. If the band develops even more, there should be a future for them. Just don't wait too long with the second album and write a complete album with songs that all have the same high quality.

A band which will be liked by a lot of modern metal fans.
