Satanic Syndrome's 'Ein Traum in Rot' is all about melodic dark/gothic/black metal and we get 9 songs sadly with no highlights... except for one song. The album opens with “Lebensangst” , the best song of the bunch and the only song that I really enjoy. We get a song with a catchy chorus peppered with a great atmosphere but that's it, folks! Track 8 “Waldgang" is to some point quite enjoyable but the rest of the songs are uninspired and sound the same to me. The guitar-runs are repetitive and the harsh vocal becomes a bit monotonous in the long run. There's certainly room for improvement here in my book... that's for sure.
