No. No. NO! This is not right! I've been reading reviews of the latest Queensr˙che album with disbelief. The ratings have been shit, more or less, no matter where I've looked. I couldn't believe them, not really.

Even if Queensr˙che have followed me as one of my all-time favourite bands since around 1990 with amazing releases such as 'The Warning', 'Operation: Mindcrime', 'Empire' and 'Promised Land', I have to agree with my fellow reviewers who have slammed the new album.

I should be happy, I suppose. I like when bands mature. Queensr˙che have certainly matured. And 'Dedicated to Chaos' is clearly aimed at a mature audience! With my tender 39 years, I feel this is far too mature for me, even. The title of the album is a paradox. Where's the friggin' chaos?! There's no punch, no power, just niceties. There is only a shadow left of the band that gave us those monoliths of marvellous, angry progressive rock music.

Dear Queensr˙che, please come back to us sometime soon - you can do so much better than this.
