Horizon Ablaze is a band from Norway and this is their debut album. Stian Ruethemann and Kevin Kvale, the founders of the band, wrote the music and the lyrics for this album. The album lyrics form a concept story about WW II, the subject is not original, but the storyline is. After a short piano-intro "Throne of Trepidation" starts the album. Stian's vocals are low grunting aggressive ones and the music is Death Metal with thrashy riffs and explosive fast parts. Death and Sadust is bands band that will come to mind in several songs.  With keyboard parts they sometimes create some atmosphere in the songs.

The music is rather technical and the songs sometimes sound a bit chaotic, but after listening for it several times you get used to it. The sound could have been a bit more brutal, but that's just nitpicking. For fans of more technical death metal this must be an album that will satisfy them. Perhaps not the best one around, but certainly worth checking out.
