The Fallen Divine are from Oslo, Norway and their "The Eternal Past And Future" EP marks the band’s first recording adventure. The genre is Melodic Death Metal having various tempo changes and with a constant presence of keyboards. It seems to me that the band was too much in a hurry to spread their material. Sure, the band members seem to share a genuine passion for what they do and here and there there are hints of talent waiting to come out. Despite all this, in the finished product the songs lack intensity and the level of songwriting calls for an urgent overhaul. Moreover, the production is poor and this extends to all instruments, except possibly the vocals. "The Eternal" contains a few redeeming moments but on the whole the band needs to be more grounded in reality if their forthcoming debut album is to get them anywhere. | ||||||||||||||||||
