The first time I heard about Alyson Avenue was when the finnish supergroup Nightwish hired the swedish vocalist and for the most of us unknown singer Anette Olzon as the replacement for Tarja in 2007. Because of that Alyson Avenue was put on hold and the remaining members went on to other projects. But in 2009 the work to find a new female vocalist took off and what a star they've found in Arabella Vitanc, who is a comet on the rockheaven. This is a worldclass breakthrough in my point of view.

In the first track "Liar" Anette Olzon is guest singing as a background vocalist, but for me Arabella is the stronger voice for AA. She gives the band more authority and a wider specrum. In track number 2 Michael Bormann sings the duett with Arabella and makes a strong contribution for the song. In the beautiful song Changes, the guest guitarist Rob Marcello plays a great solo. Amazing Days is a strong and powerfull track it's a little rougher, and AA shows that they can play harder beats to. I like the light and delicate guitar loops the band are building their songs on and with strong lyrics and this new star in the front I really hope that Alyson Avenue will survive the fierce competition in this genre. So, lovers of melodic rock with female fronted vocalist; this is a goldpiece.
