In Aiumeen Basoa’s debut album you can find long Basque Folk/Metal tunes with lots of rythm changes, mixed with a grand variety or instruments and arrangments. Being mainly influenced by traditional Basque Folk music, the band also claims to be inspired by Ulver and In The Woods of Norway. The record is quite harmonious but the harsh voice still needs to be worked on so it doesn't tear through the rest of the production the way it sometimes does. The softer melodies are more progressive and well-performed than in many folk-metal tunes. The whole is mainly interesting given the specialty of the Basquese melodies, but Aiumeen Basoa will have to work hard to impress me next time. | ||||||||||||||||||
