This is a debut that sweeps away a lot of the competition.

The New Low from Odense, Denmark, plays hardcore the way I like it. This of course means that 'Fall Empire' has something on offer for the death metal and thrash metal fans as well as the hardcore fans among us. I'm not saying that this is perfect release; it isn't. There's a couple of solos that should've been worked a lot more on before recorded and the same can be said of the mix of the final track, Never Ending Tragedy.

But apart from that, I really like The New Low's refreshingly simple and rocking approach to the hardcore genre - both in terms of diverse style and good, clean sound.

The album was recorded and produced by former HateSphere shouter Jacob Bredahl and there are indeed similarities with first and foremost his Last Mile project - where, I have to say, this album falls more into my basket than Last Mile.

If you like thrash with a death metal edge and a desperate hardcore vocal, you need look no further. Check this out immediately!
