Rating
Style: (Southern) Hard Rock
Release date: September 29th 2009

A Redneck-blues-rock’n’roll-heavyrock-band from Denmark? Yes, ladies and gentlemen! Copenhagen to be exact.

Simple and energetic with fat, raw guitar sound, pounding drums and a whiskey-like vocal. Nice! This is topped with piano, organ and harmonica on some tracks – not always quite to my liking, but done with the right spirit, so it’s just a matter of my personal taste for the harder edge on this kind of music. I like that the lyrics have a self ironic attitude to the macho-male universe.

The album is produced by Tue Madsen (who also produced bands like Sick Of It All, Dark Tranquility, Mnemic and Moonspell) at his Antfarm studio in my home town, Aarhus. The mastering was done by Jan Eliasson. The sound is clear and balanced, so it’s a job well done.

Sadly I missed them on their tour around Denmark in October/November, I think they have to be a great live band, and they are supposed to have a lot of stage experience. I’ll keep a look out for next time.

Cool cover/artwork, very appropriate for this kind of music, fits well into the style – and a poison looking green to catch the eye in the shop.

They will release this, their debut album, outside Denmark on January 21, 2010 via Voices Music & Entertainment (VME).

If you are in for this kind of hard rock, and maybe need something for the next hard rock-party, by all means check this one out.
