Credo is the confession of fate in the Roman Catholic Church, but I don't think these Ukrainian band members will be joining the mass every Sunday. Together with some guests like Johnny Mauding (Bal-Sagoth, My Dying Bride), Iscariah (ex-Immortal), Nera (Darzamat), Novy (ex-Behemoth) and Ashmedi (Melechesh) as producer they have recorded their 4th!! album. I'd have to say that I don't know any of their earlier albums, so I can't compare this one to their earlier work. The music on this album is not very complex and rather simple, but it is effective. They play thrashy music with power metal riffs, sometimes carried by wide orchestral parts. The harsh vocals makes it sound heavier, but with a clean metal singer it would be heavy power/thrash metal with gothic parts. Just when you think you know what to expect on the album, the first tunes of "Credo Revolution" come in as a surprise; a catchy almost dance-able song with harsh and female vocals accompanied by gothic synths, nice song. After that the next song that brings in the necessary variation is "Credo Flaming Rain" - a softer track with Nera on vocals, backed up by some aggressive parts of vocalist Rutarp. All in all, these Ukrainian guys have made an album that is nice to listen to every now and then, but I doubt if that is enough to really get foot a-ground.
