From the outset, this demo CD from London's Past the Fall is the hammer.
A thrash riff with the same qualities as Sepultura's Inner Self opens the ball
and I can't help clapping my greasy little hands in expectation.
Like the demo CD I received a couple of years ago from the very same trio, the
tightness is definitely there. This is a tightness that is worthy of Prong, mind
you, and not to be disregarded. This is powerful music that would pull any
proper thrash fan into the mosh pit in a matter of seconds.
Sadly, my criticism of the last platter is true of the new material as well.
Vocalist/bassist Will still insists on adorning the otherwise extremely
promising recordings of this band with his immensely flat, semi-growl. This is a
shame.
This shouldn't stop you from checking out Past the Fall's MySpace for more info
- go for it!
