Usually we don't review online releases, but I thought I'd
make an exception in this case. 'Covered in
Darkness' by Swedish symphonic black metallers Netherbird can be downloaded from
the band's website with cover and all.
For me it has curiosity value because Netherbird have taken Annihilator's
masterpiece Alison in Hell and turned it into their own, organ-laden piece.
Sacrilege some would argue, and I'm inclined to agree, but still it has some
entertainment value that makes it worth your while.
The covers of Sentenced's Nepenthe and As I Die by Paradise Lost stir less
emotions whereas the The Soundtrack of Our Lives cover, Firmament Vacation, also
offers an interesting dark take on things.
It's free - so got and check it out. Won't harm you.
