I took the chance to review this album from Misery Index called ‘Heirs to Thievery’ without even knowing the band... but I don’t regret it all.

Misery Index fucking rules, boys and girls. Even though that they (almost) are all about speedy death metal or grind-core death metal they never seem to lose any control over their music. This is cruel and whole. You bang your head like a maniac in places and enjoying the speedy riffs (with lots of twists and turns) when you thought it impossible.

The drums are pounding while the notes are raining down in a never ending storm from the guitarists. Yes... we are talking furious riffing and immediate energy while still memorable. This is grind-core death metal of the highest calibre. Damn...everything falls into the right places after 2 or 3 listens. Awesome.

There are only a few bands in this crowded genre that REALLY stands out in my humble opinion. But Misery Index is surely one of them. At least they have found a new fan in me.

Check it out if you dare.
