The full-length debut of the French guys is hammered out rather seriously. Stabilized as quartet KORROSIAH achieved significant multilayer album.
The music of the band is based on pure thrash metal. It is developed in technical option with complex rhythms and elite composing. The songs are energetic without any fear of middle tempo passages. They are always charged with energy. The aggressive thrash/death vocals impart to the sound heavy and contemporary image.
Although they are not entering the progressive or other territories KORROSIAH have not achieved the clean style of GRIP inc. or CORONER. Their significant achievements in tech-thrash are from the class of the early SADIST and SACROSANCT. This brings its actives and passives: the aimed multilayer music is threatened by different diversions from the gender. For now the boys are not overdone with some acoustic presented solos or power thrash influences. The vocals remind SODOM at places but usually are closer to the first SADIST or to the French band LIZANXIA.
The pretentious composing of KORROSIAH is impressive. Even more, the virtues of the debut completely answer to this pretension. The songs are not similar one to another and the album sounds and could be listened as a whole without boring you.
The minimalist Scorpions-like cover artwork is not showing what’s hidden under it. Even the abstract cover of their demo ‘The Rehearsal Room’ (2006) is more proper for this music. Being indeed a phenomenon in tech-thrash KORROSIAH made me wait for their next release.
