After 3 full length albums this Portuguese band recorded an EP. 'Revelations' is an EP that has turned out to become the home for some lighter tracks taken from the third album writing sessions back in the period between 2006 and 2007. 2 songs however, "Doppelgänger" and "Betrayed" are not new songs. The first one comes from the 2009 album 'Innergy' and has been mixed again and the other one is known from their debut 'Fiction Edge' (2000).

"Phenotype" is a progressive prog-metal ballad and shows that Forgotten Suns is able to write interesting songs. Ricardo Falcao's vocals fit the music and the keyboard arrangements make it a nice sounding song. Personally I like the more metallic edge of the band, but the softer and more emotional style of the song "Pinpoint" can be appreciated by me too. "The Hill" is yet another soft song with acoustic strings and a nice guitarsolo.

Summary: An EP that gives you the chance to get to know the more softer side of this band and a nice nookie between the previous album and the new full length that they are preparing for.
