I consider Brand Drill to be a favourite of mine when it comes down to technical death metal/grind-core ‘cause their 2008 release ‘Apocalyptic Feasting’ totally blew me out of my socks. And now they are back with another hammer album.

‘Quantum Catastrophe’ is the title and if you’re familiar with this band you won’t be disappointed. And if you’re not familiar with this brain drilling band then I will welcome you to a world of pure technical, hyper fast metal with lots of twists and turns.

Brain Drill’s music is certainly not for everyone and you really have to listen carefully to suck up all the details. Their music is packed with blast-beast yet superb drumming. Fast and furious riffs and excellent leads. They have once again managed to throw everything fast and brutal together without sounding boring or out of control.

Brain Drill shakes hands with Necrophagist and Psycroptic (among others) so you better beware. ‘Quantum Catastrophe’ can sound a bit messy at the very first listen but everything falls into the right place after a couple of spins.

I have just one concern; Will they begin to sound repetitive on their next release if they stick to the same formula?

Check it out if you’re a genre fan.
