I am
sure that
when these guys went shopping for the ingredients for a progressive metal album
that they have checked and double-checked their lists both before and after the
visit to the store because this album has everything needed for the making of a
great progressive metal album. But they stick too close to the recipe and have
forgotten to add something extra and individual to the dish, which is a bit sad
because the talent and skills leaves nothing to be desired for.
All things considered this is their debut
album and you have to crawl before you can walk, and this is by no means a bad
effort, actually it is rock solid and even thought most of their influences are
very clear; Seventh Wonder, Symphony X, Evergrey and most notable Dream Theater
they do try to stand on their own. Now they need to season their songs and add
some spice to the mix in order to grow and to become more unpredictable.
A good beginning...
