Sonic Syndicate

Rebellion EP

Rating
Style: Modern metal
Release date: November 6th 2009

’Love And Other Disasters’ was a really good album. Sonic Syndicate toured successfully in the wake of the album.

It was therefore a bit of a surprise that singer
Roland Johansson decided to abandon ship in the spring of this year.

Anyway, the rest of Sonic Syndicate have clearly no intention of quitting the bizz just like that. UK shouter Nathan J Biggs was recruited into the ranks of the Swedish modern metal success story and this EP is the first recorded evidence.

There’s nothing surprising in the two new tracks, Burn this City and Rebellion in Nightmareland: This is solid, good-quality, tight modern metal with catchy refrains – and I’d expect nothing less from the Swedes.

A fine promise for the next album from Sonic Syndicate. I shall look forward to it, no doubt.
