Rimfrost (glazed frost) is a Swedish act that releases their second album called 'Veraldar Nagli' (Axis of the world). I don't know the songs on the first release, but I can definitely say that I like this one. On the internet there are already reviews with very different opinions, some like the band, others find them so so. I join the pack that likes them.

I expected 'true and very evil' black-metal of the worst kind (in black metal terms that means good). But Rimfrost fortunately uses very different influences. Most of the songs are a mix of Immortal, Metallica and Amon Amarth. A nice combination of black, thrash and speed-metal. Already in the first track "Varaldar Nagli" we hear some very close to the Metallica's 'Kill 'em All' period kind of riffs. This is even more noticeable on "The Raventhrone". Hravn's vocals holds the midst between aggressive thrash and grunting death ones. The drums are pounding very tight and the overall sound of the album is good enough.

A really nice album to bang and a welcome expansion of your collection when you are into Immortal, I and Amon Amarth.
