OBSCURA features ex-members of such bands as; NECROPHAGIST and PESTILENCE and ’Cosmogenesis’ could very well be the album that will catapult OBSCURA into the premier league of technical death metal... it’s that good, believe me.
We get 10 tracks with everything that your heart desires; Up-tempo, mid-tempo, twists and turns, tasty guitar runs, tasty guitar leads, excellent bass lines, superb drumming... and the best thing, the band is not overdoing it. Some bands in this genre are very boring, but here we get excellent musicians who are in control of their music. And we actually get lots of melody. Not in a sappy way... don’t worry.
This kind of music needs time to grow because it’s very complex and not suitable for background music. No... this kind of music needs your full attention so you can suck up all the details.
A must buy for fans of; NECROPHAGIST, CYNIC, ORIGIN, PSYCROPTIC, or genre fans in general.
