This is clearly a band that is waiting to be discovered by a label.
Roaming the Dutch underground, Izah float in the field of metal music that also contains Neurosis, Gojira, Cult of Luna, Isis and Burst - namely that field of bands that resist a clear label to their music.
Unlike much of the other music I review for this site, there is not so much focus on technicality as there is focus on atmosphere, mood, postmodern angst and even the epic element, and that the six members of Izah master excellently.
Although the two tracks of this EP both clock up at just over 11 minutes, you won’t feel bored for one second in this fusion of mellow sludge rock, metal and noisecore.
Recommendable indeed.
