Polish Metal is something for itself and Hermh is no exception. The band, which recorded their Cold Blood Messiah at Vader's usual studio and has toured with Behemoth (2006), shares the mentioned's precision and impact in their musical work.
Hermh is one of these ultra professional and sophisticated bands that are able to use pompous middles without sounding too much; this translates in Hermh's last achievement by the present yet discrete keyboards, the refined riffing and virtuous solos, as well as judiciously placed Gregorian chants. Reminiscence of Dissection in the sound and Dimmu Borgir or Limbonic Art in the orchestration is immediate; dramatic undertones confirm the undertitle "vampiric black/death where anything can happen", that once could apply to Cradle of Filth.
This record may finely combine a harsh maintone with melodic and acoustic parts; my reserve is where I find the energy too little channelled, too linear, and a bit messy, not completely unforgettable. Might just be my own taste.
The CD comes along with a bonus DVD including among others the making of the "Hairesis" video. Why wouldn't you check it out!?
