After At Vance's fourth album Oliver Hartmann left the German power metal band. He started a project in his own name and he has just released his third album. Hartmann focuses more on the hardrock-style and has not much to do with At Vance's style of power metal anymore. Of course his voice is very recognizable and he still is a more than average singer.
His warm sound is still a mix of David Coverdale and Jorn Lande. This record contains some tight rock songs such as "Won't Get Fooled Again", Don't Give up your Dream" and "From Outta Space". On the other hand there are again lots of candy sweet soft songs. Personally I prefer the heavier ones. The balance between the rock and the soft songs is a bit gone, that is the reason why I think this album could have been much better. But that is his own choice.
If you like hardrock leaning towards the softer side with good vocals this could be your thing. If you like it heavier you will get bored after a few spins. Be your own judge.
