Goatwhore
Carving Out the Eyes of God
Rating
Style: Blackened Death Metal
Release date: June 22nd 2009

Their second album for Metal Blade Records leaves no questions asked, it tops it's predecessor with a good length. Which is not easy because 'A Haunting Curse' wasn't so bad either. "Apocalyptic Havoc" is an evil strapping punch on the jaw, immediately we hear the band's main influence; early Celtic Frost. The clear lyrics get spit out by L.B. Falgoust II with venomous fierce, as if he is Beelzebuub himself.

During the whole album they spread their blasphemous statements in blackened death metal. The crunchy thrashy low guitars riffs, some blast beating moments and even some melodic guitar solos now and then keep the attention of the listener. Fans of the band know already enough, the band has succeeded even more in creating their beloved style using the old Celtic Frost sound. Fans of early Celtic Frost have to check this one out for certain. With nowadays production and the ability to write interesting songs they will like this a lot.

A brutal, fast, aggressive and evil record for all malicious sinners.
