Labelling Italian Edema 'thrash/death metal' isn't entirely fair. The quartet is what some would probably call 'thinking man's metal'. Especially the first track, Crawing Unreason, draws upon various inspirational sources. Tool and Gojira spring to mind, as do Katatonia.

The album forms a powerful mix of tightly controlled time changes, clean voice and growl, alternative atmosphere and clinical death metal brutality.

Tip of the day for fans of Morbid Angel, Bloodbath and Nile: My Sweetest Whore - a little death metal masterpiece in its own right!

Another band from the Punishment 18 rooster band to watch out for, no doubt.
