Well... there’s no need to introduce Marty Friedman for you, right? I’m sure that most of you out there know him and his awesome guitar playing.
‘Exhibit A – Live in Europe’ is the title of Mr. Friedman’s very first live album, recorded live during his 2007 Loudspeaker European Tour. It features Ron Jarzombek on guitar, Chris Catero on bass, Jeremy Colson on drums and of course Marty Friedman on guitar (and vocals on the last track "Hound Dog".)
I have been listening to this album more than 20 times now... and even though tracks like; “It’s The Unreal Thing”, “Angel” and “Fuel Injection Stingray” are more than okay, its still tracks like; “Elixir”, “Street Demon”, “Stigmata Addiction” from his excellent album “Loudspeaker” (2006) that I find best. Well... it’s also great to hear “Ripped” and “Cheer Girl Rampage” and the beautiful and very melodic “Thunder March” live.
Let’s be honest... some Instrumental Metal albums are quite boring right? But Marty Friedman knows how to write interesting tracks with melody, feelings and groove. You remember his tracks. His music is not just “a billion guitar solos”... no, no his music contains great riffs and tasty leads you will remember for a very long time.
If you are planning to buy only 1 Instrumental CD this year... make sure that this is the one.
