GORGONS EYES from Germany was formed back in 1992 and they have released 2 demos and 2 full length albums. Well... I’m sitting here with their latest release “Inglorious Birth” and I must admit that I find my self somewhere between heaven and hell when it comes down to their music.

To me GORGONS EYES reminds me of early MANOWAR and early VIRGIN STEELE and nothing wrong with that, but sadly only the half of the songs (11 of them) can convince me. There are really a few very good tracks to be found. Just take a listen to the album opener “Higher Than Eagles”, the very catchy and strong “Proud and Strong”, “Bloodlust” or the up-tempo track “Spirit of Steel and you will discover that this band has talent. Then we have a few okay tracks and the rest is fillers in my humble opinion.

The production is okay... and if you’re sick and tired of the direction MANOWAR has taken and if you can live with that fact that only half of the songs are great, then I suggest you to check out GORGONS EYES right away.
