Yes, I hear you thinking, he is from Holland, the band is from Holland and again a good rating. But if something is shit, it stays shit, and this simply isn't. This is good music. And again it is a 6-piece band. Look out, don't mix this one up with As It Burns from the U.S.A. This record is the follow-up to 'Mortal Dusk', which was released by Cold Blood Industries in 2003. In January 2005 they started with the recordings of 'Global Ruin'. Because of personal problems and misery, the recordings got postponed.

In summer 2006 the record was mixed and ready, unfortunately their label quit. Still not having found a suitable label to bring their record out, they decided to do it themselves. 10 years back, such a band with this record would be signed a long time ago. It's a pity, but it's reality. The record has a good production done by Berthus Westerhuys and Jens van der Valk (Cantara, ex-God Dethroned, Autumn).

The music is a mix of Death, Thrash and Black, with atmospheric keyboards underneath it. Thrashy guitars, Gothenburg sounds and blastbeats go hand in hand. Bands such as Unleashed, Kreator, God Dethroned and at times Opeth are influences you can hear. Nevertheless, the music they bring is very varied. Take a song like "Shopping for Ulcers", you find in one song black, thrash, death and doom parts without creating a mess. In "Corpse Collector" you hear a very cool and weird keyboard-sound as if Marsians are encountering the world. One song I also must mention is "Overanimated", If you want to know how chiming (Christmas) bells can be used in a heavy song, check it out.

I should say labels wake up, give the band a chance!
