It’s no secret for people who know me that I have been quite fond of the Danish Thrash Metal band Artillery ever since I bought their debut full-length album “Fear of Tomorrow” back in 1985.
Artillery is back together and if you hurry up you can still get their new box-set entitled “Through the Years” (A limited edition of 2000 copies) containing their 4 studio albums; “Fear of Tomorrow” (1985), “Terror Squad” (1987), “By Inheritance” (1990) and “B.A.C.K. (1999). You not only get the 4 albums but also 23 bonus tracks, 5 pages of the history of the band, lyrics, pictures, and discography. (More than 30 pages).
Artillery will record a live DVD at the Metalmania festival in Poland in the nearest future and later this year they will release a brand new studio album. So there’s plenty to look forward to.
Even though I love all their albums, the very first one “Fear of Tomorrow” still stands as one of the best Thrash Metal releases of all time in my humble opinion. The songs are all very “catchy” and memorable and I can still listen to this album 10 times in a row without getting tired of it. “Terror Squad” is not as catchy as their first album, but contains one great guitar riff after another but I remember that it needed a few spins to sink in, but it’s still a great album. Their third album “By Inheritance” showcased a much more evolved band and it’s quite technical at times. A tad more polished but still thrashy and catchy. “B.A.C.K.” is just pure Artillery just the way I like them!
If you are a fan of this Danish band, then you need this box-set too.... that’s for sure!
