Never heard Polish Vesania before, but I expected it to be in the vein of their countrymen Behemoth and Vader, obviously since Vesanias front growler is in Behemoth. I wasn’t disappointed, really, Behemoth it surely reminds me of, but only with massive amount of keyboard. This I’m normally not to big a fan of, but in rare cases I can be morbidly nostalgic about the shallow emotional pornography it really is.

Vesania kicks of in a pretty high tempo and my first impression was… ‘Hmm, death metal Dimmu Borgir’ – not impressed. But then ‘The Downfall’ starts, which fucking rocks! That voice is so crunchy and perfectly angry bull-like to suit my senses fully. Roughly every second song on this album is sublime, and the other half is pretty good but with awful keyboards. Sorry, I just can’t ignore it when it’s in my face like that.

Vesania ‘Distractive Killiusions’ is a very nice album with superb vocals. Many of the riffs are incredibly catchy and I can’t really seem to shake it from my playing list. Recommended for the deathier audience, particularly those who either like or can ignore the keyboards.
