Scelerata
Darkness and Light
Rating
Style: Power Metal
Release date: March 23rd 2007

Scelerata is the latest signing on the German record label MTM Music and it’s definitely a good one. Scelerata comes from Brazil and they play power metal the European way. The music is heavily influenced by Angra, Stratovarius, Helloween, Dragonforce, Edguy and Yngwie J. Malmsteen.

‘Darkness and Light’ offers ten great tunes and a video bonus track called “Eminence” + a making of part.

‘Darkness and Light’ is the debut album from Scelerata and it kicks of with a little intro called “Land of the Sins” and then jumps right into the first real song “Holy Fire”, the rest of the album is really defined by this song: Melodic power metal with a great singer that sounds a bit like Michael Kiske topped with neo-classical bits and pieces.

Scelerata is definitely a good band but they are not going to change the world of heavy metal, but if you are into the above-mentioned bands they offer a good time while listening to ‘Darkness and Light’.

Recommended tracks: “Holy Fire”, “Eminence” & “Spirits Looking for…”.
