Well... first of all... this album is not called “Rock School” but “Rock S’cool”. And Rock is cool, right? This album contains 2 CD’s and they are divided into parts... lessons in Rock music. I was already paying attention when the teacher threw the first CD in the player and “Lesson 1” started. This Lesson is called “HARD ROCK” and I was having a quite good time listening to bands like; Whitesnake, UFO, Heaven and Hell, Axel Rudi Pell and Doro. Well... I must admit that I can’t stand Doro but I do like the other bands, so the first Lesson was enjoyable.

I ... and the rest of the class too... were more than ready for the next Lesson. Namely “Lesson 2 – HEAVY METAL”. Once again we were treated with 5 tracks. 5 tracks from bands such as; Judas Priest, Saxon, Metal Church, Beyond Fear and Messiah’s Kiss. I was having a fucking great time and the only disappointment was Saxon... can’t say I’m a huge fan of them. But well... now I couldn’t wait for the next lesson.

“Lesson 3 – Power Metal” opened with Iced Earth... and I felt quite bored... hate this band. Next up is Kamelot and I began to feel a tad better but my mood dropped again when Demons & Wizards were blasting out of the speakers. My mood was saved by Freedom Call and Helloween and I couldn’t wait for Lesson number 4 to begin.

“Lesson 4 – Thrash Metal”: With bands such as; Kreator, Sodom, Destruction, Annihilator and Grip Inc. I was having the time of my life... and so were my classmates. We were thrashing up the classroom and our teacher didn’t give a shit! The best Lesson so far.

Well, it was time for “Lesson 5 – Hardcore”... and I felt disappointed... No Black Metal? No Death Metal? No... Hardcore and while music from bands like; Biohazard, Sepultura, Type O Negative, Hatesphere and Raging Speedhorn were blasting out of the speakers I wasn’t really paying attention anymore. Should I skip class? Well... I decided to stay for the next Lesson.

“Lesson 6 – Alternative”... DAMN!!! I was feeling like shit now... I’m not into bands like; Engel, Skinny Puppy, Amplifier and Zebrahead. I find their music dreadful.

The very last Lesson is called “Finals” and it’s a track from one of my favourite bands, Motörhead. Namely the classic “Ace of Spades" (live). Great track!

But I went home from “school” a tad disappointed. However most of the Lessons were great.
