Road To Ruin is a new Swedish Super-Group founded by guitarist Lars Chriss (Lion's Share) and bass/keyboard player Sampo Axelsson (Lion's Share), joining their quest to pay homage to their roots is one of Sweden's finest on vocals: Matti Alfonzetti (Jagged Edge, Skintrade). Drummer Thomas Broman (Electric Boys, John Norum, Hughes/Turner) completes the line-up.

Road To Ruin's debut album has its roots solidly founded in classic heavy metal, with references to bands like Whitesnake, Rainbow, Deep Purple and first and foremost Black Sabbath. Nine well played and produced songs, brilliantly sung by Matti are on offer on their self titled debut album.

But nothing really sticks out, nothing leaves a lasting mark - and the album ends up being just good and solid, only Matti's vocal performance and a few great guitar-leads makes one listen harder... all songs are at the same level and with the same intensity.

If you put on bands like Brazen Abbot, Cornerstone or Astral Doors often, then I suggest you check this one out as well. Nevertheless a good, but unspectacular album.
