'Rapid Eye Movement' is the third and last part of the 'Reality Dream' trilogy and it is simply put; amazing! It has been a steady progress forward for the best band ever to see the light of day in Poland. Since they hit the progressive rock scene with their debut album 'Out of Myself' in 2003, they have delivered one great release after another, but no one as complete and mature as this one.

Riverside creates atmospheric songs that have the spirit, energy and feeling of Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree). Their approach to things is very similar without ever being a rip-off; this is actually meant in the most positive way, because to create art comparable to Steven Wilson's is a big compliment from me.

They continue to refine the style from their first two albums, and have found their own sound and feet with this album. Sure the references are still very much at hand, but they have incorporated them into their sound and made them their own. This album isn't as dark as the first two chapters of the trilogy, and all of the songs are well crafted, executed and produced.

'Rapid Eye Movement' is a big step forward to an already great band, and I hope this will bring the deserved attention to this brilliant band. To me one of the progressive rock highlights of 2007 and an album with great profundity and atmosphere and it sound complete and homogeneous. A timeless piece of art for fans of well thought-through and innovative rock.
