Second album from Psyopus and a very confusing
one…Psyopus was formed in 2003 and their debut album is called
“Ideas of Reference” and was released in 2004. Believe me this
band’s music is NOT for every one… and even after numerous listens
I’m still not quite sure what the f**k to think about it.
I have seen their music been described as a
multi-layered form of Technical Mathcore/Grindcore Metal… and let’s
just say that this must be the right description. At first listens I
was more than confused. The music blasted out of my speakers and it
was a true bombardment of cheap sounding drums, angry vocals, a
billion riffs and “solos”.
Well… they actually sound like they know what they
are doing but their music is still more than chaos. Their songs are
not especially memorable and each song sounding more or less like
the previous one
to the point where the only indication that a new
song has started is the silent pause in between tracks.
Okay… I DO remember the last track because it last
for almost 28 minutes and starts with a lady speaking… and she
repeats the word annoying for about 25 minutes or so… and
that’s really
ANNOYING!!!
“Our Puzzling Encounters Considered” is only for them
who are into total chaos.
