Swedish band Miscellany was formed in 2003 and their first demo was released later the same year, a second demo was released in 2004 and in 2005 they even released a self-financed DVD called ‘Live in Lund’.

On ‘Catch – 22’ we get great melodic metal mixed with symphonic metal and death metal the

Gothenburg way, with superb female operatic vocals delivered by Jenny Persson, there is also some aggressive male grunts - it can best be described as a mixture of Nightwish and Dark Tranquillity.

Sadly enough there is only 3 tracks on ‘Catch – 22’ and it is very difficult to judge a band on 13

minutes of music, but if they can keep the same high level on a full length CD, we will surely hear a lot more about Miscellany.

The music is great and the production is jaw dropping, so give this new Swedish band a chance.
