British band Mendeed took me by surprise last year when they released “This War Will Last Forever”… a splendid album and my interest in them really grew.

But let’s get back to 2007 and the brand new Mendeed release entitled “The Dead Live by Love”, and with last years album in mind I threw it in my CD-player and I was hooked right away.

I have heard people complaining about Mendeed… -“They are just Children of Bodom copycats”!

Well… they are very, very close at times to the sound and style of Bodom, but… SO WHAT??

I really don’t give a shit as long as the music is great. And this album is great. Actually I find it a tad better than last years “This War Will Last Forever”.

Mendeed is fast, thrashy and technical, but at the same time, very melodic. The guitars are kicking your big behind while the choruses hits you like a hammer. Catchy, captivating but never sappy.

The vocals are aggressive but also clean and melodic. What about growls? Yes, we even get a tad of Death Metal vocals here to spice things up a bit.

From start to finish a very straight forward release packed with fantastic riffs of varied tempos with plenty of aggression and musical variation thrown into to improve on atmosphere.

The production is great too… almost crystal clear, so look no further if you’re into hard and aggressive Metal packed with memorable songs.

Just go out and get this album now!
