Agony - Gift of Life
Rating
Style: Melodic Power Metal
Release date: June 18th 2007

Swedish band Insania has released three albums prior to “Agony – Gift of Life”, two of them “World of Ice” from 1999 and “Sunrise in Riverland” from 2001 are great power metal albums for fans of Helloween, Stratovarius and Sonata Arctica, the third one “Fantasy – A New Dimension” from 2003 only made it into my CD-Player a couple of times.

“Agony – Gift of Life” didn’t do much for me the first couple of times I listened to it, but after a while I was hooked by the great melodies in songs like “Facing My Destiny” pure Helloween, the pomp of “Gift of Life”, “Fight for Life” Helloween again or the eight minute long “Times of Glory” with it seventies touch.

But there are also some fillers like “Time Passes By” BORING, “One Day” oh man it just drags on and on.

But if you can live with an album that holds eight great power metal tunes and four not so great songs then do check it out.
