The journey of Genius and his guide
Twinspirits 32 comes to its conclusion, the last part of Daniel
Liverani's trilogy about Genius' journey into dreams' world ends on
a high note.
Just like Arjen A. Lucassen does on
his Ayreon projects different vocalists personifies different
characters: Genius (D.C. Cooper, Silent Force, ex-Royal Hunt),
Twinspirits 32 (Daniel Gildenlöw, Pain of Salvation), Apikor (Jorn
Lande, ex-Masterplan), Kokeshi Doll (Andrea Datwyler, Lunatica), Mr.
Niko (Eric Martin, ex-Mr. Big) and Senator Jeramus (Toby Hitchcock,
Prise of Lions). The narrating is done by Philip Bynoe, Oliver
Hartmann is handling all the backing vocals and Mr. Liverani is
taking care of the rest (guitars, bass and keys) with the exception
of the drumming, which his fellow Khymera compatriot Dario Ciccioni
takes care of. Daniel Liverani has produced the album as well.
The vocal performances on this
album alone makes this album worth your hard earned cash, and Daniel Liverani has written almost 80 minutes of very interesting powerful
and melodic metal, where the storyline carries the songs to high
levels. I won't point specific songs out because this is the third
part of a big concept and all songs are important to the story.
Great album for fans of symphonic
concept albums, and while we wait for the next Ayreon album with
great anticipation, Genius makes the waiting time a bit easier...
