Flagellation was formed in Sweden in 1997 and they released a 3 song promo CD called “Spineless Regression” the year after but then they fell into hibernation for some years.

In 2004 / 2005 the band started to show signs of life again and now I’m sitting here with their new 6 track EP titled “Incinerate Disintegrate” released in February 2007 by Last Entertainment Productions.

Well, this 6 track contains 4 real songs and 2 shorter tracks that I don’t see as real tracks. The music is Epic Death/Black/Thrash Metal with a Symphonic edge and at first listen it sound a little weird or whacked out but the more you listen to it the better it gets.

The atmosphere created by the keyboards is actually quite good… the songs are easy to tell apart and maybe track 3 “Threshold to Madness” is a tad better than the rest… but they are all quite good… but need a few spins to grow.

We get both growls and clean vocals and even though… or because of that… it is Epic Death/Black/Thrash Metal, fans of Cradle Of Filth and Dimmu Borgir should do themselves a favour and check this band out, because I find that there is something for every fan of real Metal here.

“Incinerate Disintegrate” comes with a splendid cover artwork, a great production done by Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetry, Centinex) and it’s recorded in Black Lounge Studio.

Well… to sum it all up; it’s a little difficult to judge a band from only 4 tracks but this EP is definitely bridges the gap for Death, Black and Thrash Metal fans and people from all 3 camps should take time to check it out.
