Fear My Thoughts was formed about nine years ago but
this is my first close encounter with this German Metal band. We get
12 tracks here on “Vulcanus”.
12 tracks of Modern Thrash, Melodic Death Metal and
even a tad of Progressive Rock. Produced by Danish mastermind Jacob
Hansen (Communic, Maroon, HateSphere, Mercenary etc) Fear My
Thoughts kick my ass right away with the first track “Accompanied by
Death”… one hell of a track… awesome drumming and with a melody that
could stay in my mind forever.
They continue to impress me with the next 2 tracks
“Blackness” and “Culture of Fear”. 2 first class Melodic
Death/Thrash songs and to put it simple… 2 of the best tracks I’ve
ever heard in that genre. But sadly they can’t keep the high level
on the next 6 tracks.
Only track 10 reaches for the top and the last 2
tracks are only a bit above average in my humble opinion. So except
for the few tracks mentioned above this album doesn’t really ignite…
at least not in my world… however if you are a genre fan do check it
out.
