Eden’s Curse was formed in 2006 when songwriter/bass player Paul Logue (Cry Havoc) and the American vocalist Michael Eden decided to form a rock solid partnership cemented in Metal. They recruited English drummer Pete Newdeck (The Steve Grimmett Band), guitarist Thorsten Koehne (Code of Perfection) and Ferdy Doernberg (Axel Rudi Pell) on keyboards and Eden’s Curse was completed.

Well... we are talking Melodic Hard Rock/Melodic Metal... quite good Melodic Hard Rock, indeed. Their self titled debut album contains a tad more than 1 hour of songs that are quite catchy with only a few average tracks in between. Their music reminds me of bands like Bonfire, Pink Cream 69, Evidence One and especially Fair Warning. Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69) has done the production which is splendid and it suits the melodic approach excellent.

Eden’s Curse has this ability to write catchy songs and I must admit that they somehow took me by surprise... I didn’t expect it to be that good... but it’s certainly a very pleasant surprise. Just give it a couple of spins and the songs begin to blossom and grow on you. There are only two tracks that don’t quite do it for me... but the rest of the bunch is very enjoyable songs.

Catchy guitar riffs, nice solos, and memorable choruses, what more can we ask for? It’s definitely a must buy for every genre fan. You can’t afford to miss this one, so go and get it when it’s released later in August.
