“United” is full-length release number 4 from this Gothenburg based band. Dream Evil is centred around legendary metal producer Frederik Nordström (Opeth, HammerFall, In Flames). Since the last album “The Book of Heavy Metal” there has been a couple of line-up changes guitarist Gus G. (ex- Mystic Prophecy, Firewind) has been replaced by Mark Black and drummer Snowy Shaw has been replaced by Pat Power.

I really enjoyed their 2004 release “The Book of Heavy Metal”, and I’m glad to say that “United” is a worthy successor. Dream Evil delivers a strong package of mid-paced, catchy melodic heavy Metal strongly influenced by Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Dio and Rainbow.

So now you have a pretty good idea of what to expect, solid heavy metal, Not entirely original, but I can’t help it I just enjoy this release. Just check out the likes of “Blind Evil”, “Higher on Fire”, “Falling”, “Back from the Dead”, “Doomlord” or the cover version of Helena Paparizou’s “My Number One” that won the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 a real killer.

If you’re into 80’s heavy metal chances are you’ll like Dream Evil.

A limited edition of “United” will include a bonus 3” CD including the following 5 songs: “Calling Your Name”, “Dynamite”, “Into the Unknown”, “I Will Never” and “Vengeance”.

Recommended tracks: “Blind Evil”, “Doomlord” and “My Number One”.
