If you’re into Heavy Metal / Power Metal with twin guitar melodies, fast guitar solos, catchy riffs and memorable choruses you better check Bloodbound’s second and brand new album “Book of the Dead” out.

Bloodbound continues were they left us with their first release “Nosferatu” (2006), namely with another stunning album filled with more than catchy songs spiced with a powerful and splendid production. Heck... I even like the coverart work... maybe because I'm into comics.

It’s no secret that their first album “Nosferatu” did hit me like a hammer so I was really looking out for this, their second release… and this promo-CD I’m sitting here with landed right on my birthday. A very fine birthday present indeed.

Well, I was a little nervous because there are a few line-up changes but the new members a doing a great job in my humble opinion. New singer Michael Bormann’s (Jaded Heart) voice is a little rougher than their former vocalist but it sounds great.

I threw it in my hard-tried CD-player and already after the very first listen I was hooked. There’s nothing new here… Bloodbound sounds just like they did on “Nosferatu” and have once again created a work of Metal that leaves all nearest competition in the dust.

I already after 2 albums consider them amongst my favourite bands and they do not disappoint me here on “Book of the dead”… not at all.

Every single track hits me just where it hurts. Their riffs and choruses are just fucking memorable and when the CD is done I just want more.

Some might say that they sometimes are a tad too close to other Metal acts, but I don’t give a toss. Bloodbound are just so much better than the rest.

It’s hard for me to name any standout tracks because as mentioned before, every single song is fucking awesome. I promise you that you’ll be humming the choruses long after the CD is done and this brand new album is just as good as their debut album.

So, if you are into up-tempo Metal with huge and memorable choruses do get this albumwhen it’s released in may and turn the pages in the Book of the Dead.
