Blitzkrieg kicked of their career way back in 1980 and was one of the better bands in the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, they released the “Buried Alive” single in 1981, and the B-side “Blitzkrieg” was later covered by Metallica on their “Creeping Death” maxi and on the “Garage Inc” CD. They also had the song “Inferno” on the “Lead Weight” compilation in 1981 before splitting up later in 1981.

Blitzkrieg reformed in 1984 and released “A Time of Changes” in 1985 and the EP “Ten Years of Blitzkrieg” in 1991 before splitting up again but they already reformed the following year. Between 1995 and 2005 five studio albums, a live album and a best of compilation was released.

With “Theatre of the Damned” Blitzkrieg has delivered ten brilliant tracks of pure heavy metal, the song writing is very diverse as you can find all kinds of metal tunes here: slow, mid-tempo and fast numbers of the greatest quality.

Fortunately Blitzkrieg still sounds very old school, it’s like picking up an album by Saxon, Iron Maiden, Samson, Angel Witch etc. You know instantly what band you are listening to.
It’s good to see that there are still people in Britain that knows how to rock.

The digipack edition comes with two bonus tracks and two bonus videos.

Recommended tracks; “Devil’s Spawn”, “Spirit of the Legend” & “Tortured Souls”.
