'New Revelation' is the fourth album in as many years, and all four albums are essential purchases for fans of classic heavy metal. Classic old school metal with the roots deeply rooted into the soil that produced the likes of Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio and Iron Maiden.

Sure Astral Doors wear their influences on the outside and I am sure they won't even begin to deny that.

To put it simple: if you, like me, grew up listening to the above mentioned bands and still love this classic sound, then this is a mandatory purchase! Imagine classic old school song structures with the focus on heavy as shit guitar riffs, pounding drums and above everything else a brilliant vocalist, who no longer has to hide in the shadow of his idols.

The sound on the album is crystal clear and straight in your face, not a single song falls short - just it's been the case on the three predecessors. Nils Patrik Johansson's voice is in my humble opinion best suited for this kind of metal, and his performance on the album is once more brilliant.

Astral Doors has delivered yet another brilliant piece of classic heavy metal, an album, which has the quality and depth to take them to the next level. The band just keeps getting better, tighter and more mature with each album, and I can only recommend you'd at least give this one a chance.

Listen and learn...
